Cambodia News (Siem Reap Province): On June 13, 2022, the Siem Reap police arrested five scammers who were claiming to be Oknhas in order to trick people into buying overpriced generators.

On June 11, 2022, at 1:00 pm in Tropang Veng village, Sangkat Krobei Riel, Siem Reap province, the 5 suspects drove a Toyota RX300 (PNH 2R-4179) to the shophouse of a 25-year-old woman, Reut Sa, attempting to selling the generator to her. They told her that they were oknhas and a generator was gifted to them.
They said that it was valued at 1,200$, but they would sell it to her for only 700$ to buy beer. She refused to buy, so they dropped the price to 400$. Eventually the woman agreed to pay 270$ for the generator. While she was going to get the money, they lied to her brother, saying that the woman asked him to give them 15 boxes of beers. So, in the end, the scammers left with the 15 cases of free beer as well as the 270$. The victims found out that they were tricked, and they reported it to the police.

On June 13, the suspects attempted to scam more people in Phsar Kontrok market in Kontrok village, Sangkat Svay Dongkom, but got spotted by the police. They escaped at first, but got caught and arrested at the Svay Thom roundabout in Chrey village. They admitted to scamming the victims and splitting the money among themselves.

This is theft of beer, it has nothing to do with the generator sale. Did they drive off with the generator after being paid? What is the point of the picture of them all pointing at a generator? This story makes no sense.
