Two Young Men Drown After Electrocution at Swim Resort

Cambodia News, (Banteay Meanchey Province): At 12:30, shortly after noon on June 17, 2022, at O'Khaidon Swim Resort in the village of Kon Damrey, Poipet City, it was reported that two men drowned after they received an electric shock while swimming at the resort.
The first victim is Leh Sinan, male, 24 years old, working in a casino, living in Village 5, Sangkat Poipet, Poipet City, Banteay Meanchey Province.The second victim, Sem Lim Heang, alias Pich, about 20 years old, is the owner of Kyos restaurant, who drowned when trying to save the first victim.

According to the source, there were 7 to 8 friends working in the casino together, who came to Kyos restaurant and ate together at O'Khaidon Swim Resort. It appears that the first victim, a casino worker, grabbed an electric cable to swing off the railings of the metal bridge into the water.
Then another man, working at the restaurant, came down to help the first man, but when he jumped into the water, he suddenly had seizures like an electric shock and sank abruptly. The bodies of both the victims disappeared under water.

After the incident, it was observed that the authorities, including the joint police force, the police force, and the military force were still trying to dive to find the bodies of the two victims at 3:40pm this afternoon.

Cambodia News, (Banteay Meanchey Province): The bodies of the two men who went missing after a presumed electric shock in O'Khaidon Basin, Poipet City, have been recovered by divers. One man was found yesterday evening, and the other at around noon today.
The bodies will be given to the families for the funeral rites. RIP
