Heavy drinkers ‘healthier and happier in later years’

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

There are probably many advantages with regularly drinking something flammable, can clean wounds and contains poison. You don't see to many bald homeless.

That's a good sustainable lifestyle (if it can be maintained). I'm sure you'll get told that binge drinking once a week is bad for you but binge drinking every day is much worse.

I haven’t had a drink in 8 months, no wonder I’m so pissed off all the time.

Nothing wrong with drinking alot but make sure to take care of your Body!

Many alcoholics does not die early just from the alcohol but malnurishment as they dont eat properly, dont excercise and do other stupid shit too such as geting infections they dont seek treatment for.

Yet even those those drink their brains out for 20-30 years before they die.

Your body is a treatment facility made to clear out toxins. That is its job. Just make sure to take care of it so it can keep doing its job including some rest once in a while.

Your body has to last you a lifetime , look after it better than your car or moto. Strange how we put the very best oil and fuel into our vehicles so they run properly but put shit fuel into our bodies and expect it to run 24 / 7.

Currently into the fifth month abstaining from the drink I'm as bored as Megan Markle at a platinum jubilee.

Well, almost.

I do dry months every year, 3-6 months range. In the beginning it hugely dropped my tolerance, now I never build it up much anyway.

I’m about to crack a beer shortly

The breaks are needed as one beer's too many and a hundred's not enough - no half measures so it can be punishing over time. And tolerance is a curse as I see it - I'd much rather be a two pint screamer. I'll have my next drink on the plane over in 4,752,000 seconds, or
79,200 minutes, or 1320 hours, or 55 days, or 7 weeks and 6 days time.....but who's counting?
