4 dead after active-shooter situation Tulsa

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

Would that be a British pint or a US wet pint?
A subject quite hard to fathom for many metric folk! :hattip:

3500* people killed on 9/11 and they conducted 2 wars and spent (wasted) $10Trillion*

But 50,000*+ deaths a year - every year- killed by their own gun wielding hands, and that's not worth the effort to fix?

If America doesn't care enough to fix this problem, why should anyone care?

Over half of those deaths are suicides. Tragedies of a different sort.

I think the majority of Americans do care to fix the problem, but when their law making elite are lining their pockets from lobbying corporates like the NRA...

Does the NRA underwrite or provide financial support to churches and anti-abortion groups? It would make sense if they did because more people equals more guns. More guns equals more deaths. More deaths equals more prayers. And, well, it's prayer that brings us all closer to God - and at the end of the day God is what matters most.

America is the dumbest it's ever been.

The concept of a militia, with respect to the much referenced 2nd amendment, may need to be revisited, as it seems many of the forthright advocates want to use the idea almost as a provocation with the very entity that the 2nd amendment was intended as a protection against. I’m not sure that even the original proponents would have had that idea in mind.

It also seems to me that this much vaunted constitution might have benefited from some impartial legal input to avoid all these poorly thought out excuses in the face of common sense.

Back to the current event (all of a sudden, pushing the execution of school children towards page 2), I wonder if ethnicity is going to be pushed harder in this case, further obscuring the appalling tragedies in such a short period.

The alleged shooter was a patient at the hospital in question.

Imagine if the $50 billion or whatever it is up to now that was spent on Ukraine was instead used to help solve issues in the US. If that kind of money can just materialize for Ukraine, why not hardening up schools or treating mental health?

Harden up schools????wtf does that mean?

Governor Abbott doesn’t think mental illness is an issue here in Texas. In fact he cut $211 million from mental health care the last two years.
