Ecole française d'Extrême-Orient Hands Over 146 Boxes of Discovered Artifacts To Apsara Authorities
Cambodia News (Siem Reap Province): On the morning of May 11, 2022, École française d'Extrême-Orient (EFEO) handed over 146 boxes of discovered artifacts to the Apsara authorities. The artifacts were unearthed and discovered by the French team from 2012 to 2017, during the restoration of West Mebon Temple.
The West Mebon Temple is located in the center of the West Baray, the largest reservoir of the Angkor Wat area. The temple's exact date of construction is not known, but evidence suggests that it was sometime in the 11th Century during the reign of King Suryavarman I and Udayadityavarman II.
