Looking for large amounts of dried cassava sticks or similar
Hello all,
I am look for the leftover dried sticks from cassava plantations after planting season.
I can but upwards to 100 metric tons/year.
We will burn them so if they are broken it doesn't matter.
Other similar dry or semi dried fast growing woods are also suitable such as jute sticks, vines and perhaps some types of bamboo (but i would have to run some tests for unusual types).
If you are able to supply i will need a 30Kg sample and a price by metric ton at your pick up location.
I can pay for the sample and sample delivery.
This is a long term proposition.
Also this is a pilot project, if all is well the 3 year goal is to process 5000 to 10.000 metric ton/year at our facility.

Re: Looking for large amounts of dried cassava sticks or similar
Take a vacation up to the north east of the country, you'll see plenty of drying stations and casava fields and I'm sure someone would sell you some
Re: Looking for large amounts of dried cassava sticks or similar
The sticks you will see put up there are used for planting in the next rainy season. Those are too valuable to sell per metric ton.
Re: Looking for large amounts of dried cassava sticks or similar
Usually each cassava plant produces 2-3 sticks each one able to make about 6 cutting 25cm long, each one able to make a new plant.
Unless the cassava production is growing 10 times every year 90% of the sticks cut during harvest must not be needed after planting season.
So i am interested in the dried leftovers.

Yes, most of of the sticks (leftovers) in Cambodia are simply burned on the fields. They're generally too thin to be used for planting. You are interested in those leftovers. What price are you thinking about per metric ton? On average, how many dried 'leftover' sticks do you guess make a metric ton?Jack.R. wrote: ↑Sat May 14, 2022 11:39 amUsually each cassava plant produces 2-3 sticks each one able to make about 6 cutting 25cm long, each one able to make a new plant.

Rice husks are ubiquitous and almost free. Ideal for gasifier or charcoal briquettes. Lots of process machinery available.
