Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. Cambodia News (Banteay Meanchey Province): On May 7, 2022, in Obei Choan village/commune, Ochrov district, a 42-year-old army officer named Ra Temchanpiseth, was arrested for shooting a 55-year-old man named Khieng Vanna .

The victim was a cow herder who looked after 100 cows belonging to the other villagers for a living. On the day of the incident, the victim herded the cows over the boundary into the officer's land. The victim was told to remove the cows which he did immediately. However, when he greeted the officer and reported that he had removed the cows, for some reason the suspect shot him in the left thigh, causing a serious wound.

The victim was sent to the nearby hospital and the suspect was detained for further investigation.

Google translate from khmer:
'For children from 3 years old, play as a family to reduce the phone play of young children and eliminate boredom'
Back in the day, all British boys had endless fun playing with toy guns, and 99.99999999999999% of them grew up and didn’t shoot and kill anybody.
These days it would be more acceptable for you to spoon feed your child dog shit sprinkled with broken glass, than to allow your boy to play with a toy gun.
This is probably a good example of why visually more realistic toy guns aren’t such a good idea. In a reasonably well adjusted environment, with parents and guardians present to provide guidance and limits, yes. I’d say that Cambodia has more than its fair share of examples to the contrary, though. Starting with the very people who should be providing the positive example.

They are exactly doing that! They shoot people, just what guns were made for.
Always "hope" but never "expect".
