Dirt bike rentals in PP
Dirt bike rentals in PP
Hi all,
I'd like to know of any reliable dirt bike rental companies in the capital. Myself and friends are coming to ride around Cambodia for a couple of weeks in June. I've emailed a few places found on google search but no replies....maybe they've gone bust since the virus.
Looking for 250cc bikes, any suggestions would be much appreciated.
Thanks!

What kind of bikes? XRs are available for cheap at Angkor Bikes on 51 for pretty cheap ($12-15/day I think). Or are you looking for WRs/something more modern? Other places have more modern bikes, but you're looking at $30+/day and not necessarily more reliable.
Also, no one uses emails here, so you'd have to find shops on Facebook and message them through there.

Thanks for the info Lexus.
Price isn't the biggest concern, just would prefer newer bikes that won't break down out in the bush. Also going to need at least 6 to 8 bikes. 250cc is just for most people's insurance plans.
I don't use Facebook, unfortunately. Consistently a problem in SE Asia but I won't give in!
I might just arrive a bit early and have a look on the ground. Angkor bikes, okay I will go give them a visit.

You can also compare with Dara motorcycles who isn't too far from Angkor. He's got a few WRs and other bikes. Dancing Roads also still have some bikes I think, but not sure if it's part of a tour package or not. They used to have newer huskies (15+). COVID put a big dent in a lot of these businesses though. Carefully look over any bike you rent though. I've seen numerous guys on rentals where it dies or has major issues in the middle of nowhere, and they're forced to pimp back to PP. No fun.

Thanks again. I will check those shops out too.
Might just have to go Xrs though as some riders are green to travel and don't want to give up their passports. I'm guessing a cash deposit on a husky or any other new bike would be astronomical.

Angkor's bikes are old, beat up and unreliable.

Thanks for your input cooldude. Do you have any other suggestions?
I see Dara has had some pretty scathing reviews also.

Re: Dirt bike rentals in PP
I rented 250s from Angkor starting 2002 and I'm pretty sure they've still got many of the same bikes now as they had back then. The last two times I rented there, I had big problems with the bikes in the worst of places. Avoid them at all cost. Post Covid, I really couldn't tell you who has good off road bikes for rent these days. The pandemic was really harsh on those types of businesses.

Dara and VMS (vuth) would be the only dirt bikes I would rent, especially if going off road. They will also provide you with maps and trails for where you are going..also if there's an issue, they put your bikes on trucks and will send a replacement. Both speak excellent Australian slang english..on your tour, they would also give you contacts if there's issues on bikes, or just for some local knowledge..
Unfortunately as been mentioned , contact them on Facebook..it's the only way

Thanks Mekongme,
I'm thinking hit the ground a bit early and see what's available. Fark fwitbook.
VMS is a new one to me. Thanks for the tip.
Not on a tour....making my own. Always welcome advice though.
Have you ever crossed the Cardamon mountains from Koh Kong direction?
Cheers
