Will KOW allow none vaxxed travellers restriction free entry anytime soon?

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. And vaccines only help the person vaccinated.

The locals outside the tourist industry could care less one way or another if a foreigner ever stepped foot in their country, especially an unvaccinated tourist.

I don't understand your point.
Maybe i misunderstood. I thought you were implying because most people got vaccinated-- that unvaccinated should not have to quarantine.
Vaccination my not stop transmission but offers protection-- I don't have energy to debate this already debated into the ground topic. If disagree then ok.
Yeah you were correct. I refused my free dinner for personal reasons. So I'll take my freeloading bank account to a country that doesn't require the vaxx.
Shame really as I have spent thousands on holidays in KOW over the last 10 years
hahah ok fair enough. You really feel that strongly about it I guess.

dude you already disagree w/ this and just looking for information to back up your already held opinions. Now your just debating or can you really empathize with an opinion different from your own? It is what it is. Nothing can be done. We all need support at times but all these things are out of our control.

For the obvious reason(s). For someone claiming to have been to SE Asia many times in the past 10 years you shouldn’t have to ask Why? to what is obvious.

Look up the narrative the Cambodian government used to explain the 'Feb. 22nd event' (or was it Feb 2nd?) and you might understand why they have to stick to the narrative a bit longer.

Eventually, unless a very bad variant pops up somewhere, Cambodia will decide to open for unvaccinated people too, but I don't see it happen soon too. With most of the wealthy Europeans fully vaccinated & boosted they don't need to. It seems like every flight to the KoW is fully loaded with vaxxed tourists (my flight from BKK last week was 100% full) so currently there's no need for them to make a change.

Just crossed into Vietnam and at the border everyone crossing has to do a $10 test assuming there is about few thousand people crossing daily that's a lot of T money for the customs and immigration boys at the border. Why would they possibly even consider getting rid of that?
Indeed, very lucrative business.

I’d have to disagree wholeheartedly on this ..... everywhere I’ve travelled in Asia and just about anywhere in the world, when I’ve ventured off the beaten track I’ve found warmth and welcoming people’s ..... proud if sometimes surprised that a foreigner was interested in their country .... They’re always happy to share their culture, language & food with me ....... Now on the other hand,in the tourist areas I’ve encountered plenty of animosity and barang fatigue ... scams and out right belligerence if apparently I’m not spending enough money ..... Maybe I’m just lucky and spend most of my time mixing with folks who haven’t made tourism money their God and are just happy to see a stranger who is interested in them.
