New British Ambassador Appointed to Cambodia

Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Maybe he'll be able to help with the declining trade between the UK and Cambodia. The largest segment seems to be vehicles. I'm not sure what constitutes a British car anymore. There is Aston Martin I suppose. Rolls Royce have a large presence here but they are German owned now.

You have a point, but have you read the (general) forum comments on the out-going British Ambassador ? The new guy has a lot to live up to.
And he probably only reads Twitter anyway. :stir:

Any CEO thread to do with British nationals in distress. (Try "singlet", but that was an extreme case.)

The new guy has a lot to live down to.
FTFY
Set the bar low enough, even the pie-nonce can be expected to excel, and quite frankly, setting a low bar is something that this recent mob have become good at.

I wish the new incumbent all the best, and still hold out some hope, if not expectation. Capacity to be disappointed, not surprised.

Ah, you mean the lack of commitment, i've read that a few times indeed over the years...The British guy organizing the last plane to board to UK when covid hit when the embassy did fuck all, this vibe, right ?

Just some, any indication that British citizens in Cambodia are of any concern to the Embassy would be nice

I think JLR still count as British in these figures, I know owned by Tata but based in UK
