If it’s Cambodia’s new best friend, I am sure they are thinking along those lines.

Just worried that in a few decades after being built, the Khmer will become a minority in their own country.
Yeah, it wouldn't surprise me with all these Foreign Nationals/ Chinese people coming here from all over the world and stealing away with their women. 8-)

The funny thing about the China government is they seem to have a lot of money to invest, best but it also seems they don’t know how to invest. But I guess that could be said about any government.

Cambodia to Upgrade Existing Rails to High-Speed Rails
AKP Phnom Penh, December 22, 2022 --

The Royal Government of Cambodian has determined to build high-speed rails to link the capital of Phnom Penh to economic poles in the country and with neighboring countries, which will generate huge economic benefits.

The rails should be upgraded to the high-speed ones, said Samdech Akka Moha Sena Padei Techo HE, Prime Minster of the Kingdom of Cambodia on Thursday, adding that new railway lines connecting the domestic tracks to neighbouring countries are in the government’s plan.

“We are conducting studies on the high-speed rails linking Phnom Penh to Preah Sihanouk province and to the border with Thailand,” the Premier said at the inauguration ceremony of Streets 146B and 148 in Preah Sihanouk province.

The high-speed rails would be built and renovated from the existing rails, he underlined, affirming that they will contribute to the country’s economic growth.

Cambodia now has two rail lines – the Southern Line, connecting Phnom Penh to Sihanoukville of Preah Sihanouk province, and the Northern Line, from the capital to Poipet city of Banteay Meanchey province, at the border with Thailand.

Royal Railway, a subsidiary of the conglomerate Royal Group, manages and operates the railways under a concessional investment.
