Re: Metfone wifi package
It probably means they're giving you $250 worth of internet from a sim card, at whatever rate they charge it at.

250 USD worth of internet on your mobile phone, assuming you use a Metfone SIM card. Don't sweat about it, it's worth about 2$ of real money when using Metfone Super Exchange.Jcml19 wrote: ↑Wed Apr 20, 2022 12:53 am So i fell into the opennet madness just prior to kmer new year... Re: Metfone wifi package
i use metfone fiber at home, Paid 6 months in advance ( $108) and got one month free, 2 free sims and $250 mobile internet on one of the sims ( never use it)
very pleased with the 18mbs speed i paid for as get 20 up an down.
as no one seems to j use fiber at home here, its just as fast as my 300 mbs speed i had in Phuket and same price

my opennet is working just fine
Re: Metfone wifi package
Opennet's website is still up and running and appears to still be selling packages still, so it looks like they came to some sort of settlement with the government in the end.
I've just moved apartments and had to get new internet installed. I think it's fair to say that Cambodia is still lagging quite far behind most of the rest of the world in terms of average broadband speeds and costs. It appears that if you're not prepared to spend more than a 'fair' price for home internet, you're looking at a measly 12mbps rate. You can get faster, but the cost seems to spiral exponentially for every few extra mbps you want.
The best one I've used was in my old apartment - Ezecom, which was $29 per month for 50mbps (6 months up front) which is still quite high compared to prices back home,, but unfortunately they don't serve the area I have moved to and I can't find a deal that comes close to it.

Re: Metfone wifi package
7 days in and im still waiting for the metfone installer... Bright side it looks like opennet is back up n running so i guess it was an outage that took them a few days to get back up n running...
Opennet not bad just would like an idea wat is going on with them n their back taxes.. nevertheless hopefully metfone willbe better.
