The Killing of Osama bin Laden
Seymour M. Hersh
This story certainly presents a different take on the official line.
I always thought the Pakistani military base was 10 miles from the compound but it is now stated as just 1,000 yards away and apparently the land was previously part of the Military Base but sold on in 2005 for the compound.
This is a link of 2011 story which seems very close to latest Seymour Hersh article;

Bin Laden Turned in by Informant -- Courier Was Cover Story
The informant was a walk-in.
"The ISI officer came forward to claim the substantial reward and to broker US citizenship for his family. My sources tell me that the informant claimed that the Saudis were paying off the Pakistani military and intelligence (ISI) to essentially shelter and keep bin Laden under house arrest in Abbottabad"

Re: Obama Lies About Osama
I don't believe he was killed in the raid.
As a source of info, he was way too valuable, so a false burial at sea, and bump him off after he's been tortured to get all the info. Most likely scenario, imo.
Then pay someone to 'leak' info about the raid/write a book.

I'm more likely to believe that he worked for the CIA, and that he actually died around 10 years ago from kidney failure.

Yeah, I read it in the NYT a couple days ago. Hersh's account makes a lot of sense & I've always found him credible in the past. I always wondered why the helos weren't picked up on radar.

I would rather trust Mongolian Mongoloid People's Paper before the NYT.
Google their record for partisanship.

NYT is awful. Remember their plagiarism controversy? and Judith Miller helping the Chickenhawks out with her outright lies regarding YellowCake ...basic taking lies from Mossad and presenting them as war propaganda to attack Iraq?vladimir wrote:I would rather trust Mongolian Mongoloid People's Paper before the NYT.

That said, Seymour Hersch is one of the good guys. One of the few real investigative journalists left in the USA.
Cheers,

The strangest and possibly most illuminating thing that is going on with the story is the total denial by US Government and partisan media about the issues noted in the Hersh article.
All the responses have been over the top such as 'ridiculous', 'outrageous', 'total nonsense' etc.
US Government and partisan main stream media have also chosen to focus on Hersh and discredit the messenger, not the message.
Always, always the give away tell.
This link of a 'former' CIA representative views, the only thing this prat did or was interested in doing was all out discredit Hersh.
Real amateur attempt too.

"Politico Gives CIA’s Worst WMD Liar a Platform to Slam Seymour Hersh"
This link, possibly a more balanced view of what is really at play;
http://www.cjr.org/analysis/seymour_her ... _laden.php
"The media’s reaction to Seymour Hersh’s bin Laden scoop has been disgraceful"
"Hersh’s many critics, almost word-for-word, gave the same perfunctory two-sentence nod to his best-known achievements—breaking the My Lai massacre in 1969 (for which he won the Pulitzer) and exposing the Abu Ghraib torture scandal 35 years later—before going on to call him every name in the book:
“conspiracy theorist,” “off the rails,” “crank.”
Yet most of this criticism, over the thousands of words written about Hersh’s piece in the last week, has amounted to “That doesn’t make sense to me,” or “That’s not what government officials told me before,” or “How are we to believe his anonymous sources?”
Interesting times...
