I’m just curious, because you seem to be implying that unless DankSinatra himself has built toilets for schools, he should not expect the government to spend money building toilets for schools. Why would you think that?

You seem to be implying that the government hasn't built tens if not hundreds of thousands of toilets in schools all over the country. Sure they might not always be well maintained but local people should have responsibility for this. We don't need another "socialist" system where the government is expected to do everything.

If it was, I can assure you I wasn’t implying that at all, I was just puzzled by mannanman’s odd response to a perfectly reasonable observation, that the money spent on the new statues would have (not necessarily should have) paid for a lot of school toilets.

Yes, maybe the US should not have erected the Statue of Liberty because they had some sanitation issues in NYC at the time.

If the locals were left to take care of the toilets, they would be even worse than they are now or they will charge 500 reil to use them.

It’s not so much if I think he’s built toilets. It’s the fact he thinks that a statue won’t bring better living conditions (and toilets) through increased tourism. If he wants to see nice shiny toilets take a look along the beach.

Can’t find any info on the statue but seeing it was smelted in China I’m betting it’s a gift.
