I have actually developed the awareness in recent days that there is a positive way to view Rock’s joke. I can see that SOME people would never accept that because they must play the victim, they must be self righteous about conditions, illness etc and it’s totally objectionable to see any humour about, in this case, a short-haircut-look totally separate from what caused her to take the decision to shave her hair because her choice of hair styles led to alopecia

I admit I hadn’t realised for quite a few days that her alopecia was not just general alopecia but the type that is a receding hairline and hair loss from tight braids etc. sure - that’s a black female experience, but it is possible to laugh about short hair without it having to be dragged down by what that short hair stemmed from.

We’ve all wasted too much oxygen on this anyway. I certainly have.
