Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Cambodia News (Battambang Province): According to the General Commissariat of National Police page, a 16-year-old boy named Ros Phearom from Takry village/commune, Komrieng district, was struck and killed by lightning when he was returning home from plowing farmland.

According to the eyewitness, a 21-year-old man, Thon Channet, he ran out of oil while plowing the farmland at 1 o'clock in the afternoon, so he called the boy to bring over some oil. After the victim arrived, it started raining so they decided to go back home. The victim was driving his motorbike back while the eyewitness was driving the tractor.
However, halfway home, the tractor driver saw the young man struck by lightning and he fell to the ground. The man checked on the victim and realized that he had died instantly.
The police confirmed that the victim died from the lightning strike and the body was allowed to be taken by the family for the funeral.
