Thaksin's daughter moves closer to becoming Pheu Thai PM candidate
Another Shinawatra as PM? Could be.
I rather liked Thaksin and thought he did some real good for the nation. Granted, his political career didn't end well.

A daughter of former prime minister Thaksin has been promoted to a higher position in Pheu Thai, but Paetongtarn Shinawatra declined to say whether she might eventually run as the party's candidate to lead the country.

I thought his daughter Yingluck was already PM once...
In all seriousness, whatever happened to Thaksin's son "Oak" ? Wasn't he meant to be the next up-and-comer in the family political dynasty?

Maybe even Thaksin himself has realized that his son Oak is pretty much completely useless.
That said, ANY elected Shinawatra would be better than the current head clown in charge.

Have the cartoonists done a cartoon yet of the Thaksin daughter as a puppet (on a string) with daddy above controlling the strings?

The military will never allow a come-back of the Shinawatras. Just immagine how many corruption cases the PT would bring up against the former leaders and generals.

Not sure what to think on this one. While I like the idea of a military dictatorship, Thaksin's business model brought some tangible benefits to Thailand.

There was a rumor in some quarters way back when that Yingluck was actually not the sister, given the age difference. Probably just the typical political smear campaign.Big Daikon wrote: ↑Mon Mar 21, 2022 12:27 pmThat was his sister. This is his daughter. Shinawatra #3.

Interesting. There is an 18-year difference between them.
