the 7/11 invasion begins outside PP

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Circle K hit Phnom Penh with a big fanfare a couple of years ago. Look at them now.

7-Eleven has opened its first store outside Phnom Penh – in Banteay Meanchey province’s Poipet town – with the official Grand Opening held on Friday, March 11.

Do you really want Cambodia to look like little America, 7/11 Subway, maccas in every town
nope, but i'd love a 7/11 as thailand, where can be assured if i buy something it will be quality goods at a good price an when i return in a month they will stock the same items>>

even thou have been out of the states for over half my life, i still love the things that come from America.

would u prefer little Peking? :stir:
No I prefer Cambodia

don't think the Cambodian sewerage system can handle a heavy maccas based diet

A 7-Eleven opened today on the corner of St 136/13 in Daun Penh. Had a quick look only as it was packed with sticky beaks.. It's a fairly small place.

I think 7 or 8 in Phnom Penh. They seem to open one store per month currently. So pretty slow. Only two that are really in city. Others outskirts. And they are not even close to the ones in Thailand. Much smaller product range and much higher prices.

Their goal is not to wipe out the competition (yet) but to profit from the high margins currently available.

So does 7/11 stock western products, particularly Australian, like Super Duper/Smile/Panda?

Been travelling alot in past few weeks around Cambodia and I have noticed multiple Jiffy marts at PTT stations are being converted into 7-elevens. At least 3 marts on NR6 road towards Siem Reap are under conversion or about to begin converted. And two Jiffys on NR4 are being converted as well. One being the one at PTT Pich Nill. Also they were building 7-eleven store in Sihanoukville.
