Raid was a Bust: No Drugs Found in Police Raid at Club 99

Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): The Chamkar Mon District Unity Command raided an entertainment club after it was suspected that the location was being used for drug trafficking and use.The operation took place at 11:20 pm on March 10, 2022 at Club 99 in Sangkat Tonle Bassac, Khan Chamkarmon.

After local residents reported that the club was operating and secretly using drugs, Governor Theng Sothol Of the Board of Governors of Chamkar Mon District led a joint force to inspect the above location. However, upon inspection, it was found that the location of the 99 club was not open and the authorities did not find any customers ecretly using drugs as reported by the people.

After completing the inspection, the Chamkar Mon District Unity Command decided to temporarily close the 99 entertainment club.

Anti-gambling crackdown falls flat as police raid empty house in Phnom Penh

A large scale anti-gambling raid yielded less than ideal results when authorities found the gambling den empty and deserted

The crackdown took place at 6 am on April 7, 2022 on Street K5 in Chong Khsach Village, Sangkat Toul Sangke I, Khan Russey Keo, Phnom Penh.

Local people had complained for over a month that illegal gambling was taking place in a rented apartment.

However, when authorities raided the address, they found that the gambling kingpins and players had seemingly received advance warning of the raid and fled, leaving the premises empty apart from a couple of ‘fishing’ cabinets and some chairs.
