Cambodia News, Banteay Meanchey: An eight-year-old schoolgirl named Luot Liza was reported missing in Poipet City on 9 March 2022, when she failed to return home from primary school.

The authorities then lauched a search for the missing child, and they found the girl's school bag abandoned in a wasteland with her shoes inside. Then at 9:15pm, her body was found buried in a shallow grave not far from her home.



Police conducted an autopsy and it appears that the girl suffered a blow to the head and may also have been a victim of a sexual attack.
A manhunt is now underway; officers in the region are on full alert to find the killer.

Cambodia News, Banteay Meanchey: The Child Protection Unit (CPU) on March 11, 2022, said that the CHARLIE21 Joint Task Force was formed to investigate the murder of a 7-year-old child in Poipet City.

On March 9, at 6:50 a.m., a 7-year-old girl left home for school. At 11:30 a.m., the girl's father reported not seeing the girl return home from school.

Local police officers checked the list of the girl's presence at the school and found that she was not present in the morning on the day of the incident.
Local police officers, along with villagers, began searching for the child victim. At 10:30 p.m., the girl's body was found, noting that there was an attempt to hide it.


The Child Protection Unit (CPU) was notified and dispatched a Homicide Investigation Team (HIT) and Scientific Technical Team (FST) to the scene. An autopsy and a scene search were conducted and as a result the CHARLIE22 Joint Task Force was established in collaboration with the Child Protection Unit (CPU), Banteay Meanchey Provincial Police, the National Police Commission of Cambodia, the Ministry. Interior and Department of Technology and Science.

Cambodia Breaking News, (Banteay Meanchey): Provincial Police have apparently solved the murder of 7-year-old schoolgirl, Luot Liza, which took place just over a year ago on March 9. 2022. A reliable source from Poipet City has revealed to Rasmei Kampuchea on the evening of April 27, 2023 that Banteay Meanchey Provincial Police Commissioner Major General Sithi Loh, a skilled criminal police chief, has solved the case.

In this case, Liza, a young girl aged 7, did not return home from school at 11am for lunch as usual on 9 March last year. The father of the girl, 34-year-old Sam San, reported this to the police after finding the girl's bag of school books and her shoes on the side of a dirt road. The girl's dead body was later discovered partially buried by a fence, as a result of a general search of the village and surroundings.

At the same time, the specialized police from the General Commission of the National Police, the Ministry of Interior, and the Child Protection Unit also actively participated in the investigation into this mysterious murder case.

The identity of the killer has not yet been released to the press(at the time of writing), but the police source says that the culprit is a local person, not a stranger to the the village, and was known to the girl. The full story should be released in the media tomorrow.
