Cambodia News, (Battambang Province): On Thursday, March 3, 2022, at 11:30 in Sangke District, Battambang Province, a case of murder with an ax was committed by a suspect believed to have mental problems named Meas Hok, male, 48 years old.
Immediately after the incident, Major General Sat Kimsan, Commissioner of Battambang Provincial Police, ordered his forces to take the suspect into custody for questioning.


Colonel Sun Sovann, Sangke District Police Inspector, said that Meas Hok, who is divorced, has a 7-year-old daughter living with him but he does not allow her to go to school. The victim of the attack, social worker Lao Lun, had already visited the mentally ill man and tried to persuade him to let his daughter go to the school like the other children in the village, but the man refused outright.

Then, several days later, Lao Lun went to speak to the father about sending his daughter to school again. The suspect said that he could see that this was a just ploy by the social worker to take his daughter away from him, so he picked up an ax and chased the man, chopping off his head and killing him instantly.

At this time, the police have prepared a case file and sent the suspect with the ax to the law enforcement office, and after the autopsy the body of the victim was handed over to his family to perform the traditional funeral ceremony.

Very disturbing, and poor daughter. Hopefully, there is an expert in these cases, that can try to give her some sort of therapy and guidance towards a normal life. The mother possibly ran for her life. Depending on the age, is how vulnerable the kid is right now.
