Upcoming Kickboxing match

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. Upcoming Kickboxing match

Post by hdgh29 »

If anyone is interested down in PP, my mate Simon from Siem Reap is gearing up for a kicking (getting or receiving) on 12 March. It is his first public fight, so it would be great if anyone wants to go along and support him. Two white middle class lads from good homes trying to find their killer instinct - not exactly gonna be a death match but should be a good night out for only $7.50. I will try to get down there to cheer him on, and if you spot me the beer is on me. I will be wearing a bowler hat, a red carnation and carrying a rolled up copy of the Evening Standard. Yeah right.

It seems like the matches are barang against barang. I spared once with a friend after we finished climbing in India, he had been kick boxing in England for several years. He actually didn't have the airfare to travel back to the UK, and he didn't want to travel back overland the way he came. So he took a flight to Thailand to fight there, his destination was Karson road, Bangkok, at the time making a few public fight's. When I saw him back in the UK I said it must have worked out well for you because you are here. His reply was they pay well to see a farang lose against a Thai.
Always "hope" but never "expect".
