Couple's Deception: Million Dollar Bill was Not Legitimate
Cambodia News (Banteay Meanchey Province): At 7:50 am on February 25, 2022, in Chankiri village, Sangkat/city Poipet, a couple of used clothes sellers, 31-year-old man Phan Sunhean and his 27-year-old wife Tep Sreytouch, found a US million-dollar bill in a pair of secondhand jeans from a pile of secondhand clothes they imported 4 years ago.
Thinking they had struck the jackpot, the excited couple then informed the authorities of their find, wanting to confirm the legitimacy of the bill. To the couple's surprise and disappointment, the authorities could only confirm that the million dollar note was fake and worthless.

Nobody in Cambodia would accept a torn $1 million bill.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

I think I recall a UK film from the 50s about a million pound note ?
I just found a link to it, based on a Mark Twain story.

Re: Couple's Deception: Million Dollar Bill was Not Legitimate
Too bad they didn’t take the bill to a foreigner to go over it first . It’s clearly a gag bill - for amusement only.
The front clearly says it is a fake bill ‘Not public tender’. Has a telephone number on the bill, too. And the back, well, it’s amusing.
Slightly less value than the bank of hell bills. At least, if a hell bill is burned, the recipient (in hell), gets the money.
