England has ended all COVID restrictions

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

Right, how convenient that the next scare is already with us.

Why is that scary, unless you live there?

The best time to end restrictions is when hospitalisations are 2.5x higher than when they were introduced.
Scarier than malaria.

COVID was an accidental lab-leak. It did not come from natural origins and was genetically modified during gain of function research.

With that in mind, I'm also starting to wonder if Omicron was also a manufactured virus, but this time, deliberately released to act as a 'natural' vaccine to combat the COVID pandemic. If they can engineer a virus which caused the havoc COVID did, surely they can manufacture one that will eradicate the original virus and, to some extent, counteract the effects of the original COVID, an antidote if you will, which is exactly what Omicron has done.

Just my theory.
I agree with you that the origins were most probably a lab leak, and the gain of function research that was carried out there (and funded by CDC through Eco-Health Alliance) was gain of function research looking at Coronavirus.

BUT there was and is too much money in vaccines for someone to have created and released Omicron to act as a natural vaccine. I personally think it's the natural cycle of viruses as they strive to survive so become less deadly and more transmittable. I aint a doctor, but it seems the plausible explanation to me.
