Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): At 9:50 am on February 23, 2022, at the taxi station of Phsar Deum Kor market on Mao Tse Dong Blvd., Sangkat Phsar Deum Kor, Khan Toul Kork, a taxi driver of a Toyota High Lander (PNH 2AB-9033) named Pu Yean, who regularly took customers from Phnom Penh to Neak Leung, Prek Smach, Kpob Ateav, and Ka'om Somnor, fainted and died while waiting for a customer.

According to the other taxi drivers nearby, the victim was waiting for a customer to go to Takeo province. But when the customer arrived and opened the back seat door to enter the car, he realized that the driver was having a hard time breathing. He immediately called for help from the other taxi drivers and the security guards of the market. They attempted to revive him but it was already too late.
The victim's family arrived and took him to the Khmer-Soviet hospital in the hope of rescuing him. However, the doctor announced him dead before they arrived. According to the autopsy, the cause of death was a heart attack.
