"The NSS also declared the right of the United States to intervene militarily to secure its "vital interests," which included, "ensuring uninhibited access to key markets, energy supplies, and strategic resources."

from https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clinton_Doctrine

If the US has these 'rights', why should Russia not have them?

Did you read the Clinton Doctrine?

In a nutshell, US intervention expands to protect humanitarian missions. As well as making sure everyone has free access to trade and resources.

The US sent troops to Bosnia and Somalia, and protected ships in strait of Hormuz from Iranian attacks. Especially non US ships. Everybody.

So based on this document, you say Russia has the right to cause humanitarian disasters and shut down free trade?

Indiscriminately bombing population centers, power stations, and nuclear plants, cause humanitarian disasters.

Stopping shipments of Ukrainian grain and other exports cause world shortages.

The NSS differentiates between humanitarian and national interests. My post was about the latter, while yours is about the former.

Were you trying to rail off the discussion or was it simply a lack of understanding from your side?!

The USA are breaking international law in the strait of Hormuz, to protect their (and their partners) interests in the oil ondustry, exactly as laid out in the NSS.
These are Iranian waters after all and the 'customary maritime laws' the USA are using to justify their actions have never been signed by the USA.

If you look at the scale the US has violated international law in the last decades (even since WW2) - starting illegal wars based on lies, torture, kidnapping, spying on allies and entire countries (Snowden/NSA), meddling in internal affairs of sovereign countries (Ukraine 2014) etc etc., it is exactly what I quoted above.

So my question again, if you have a country that puts its national interests above everything, how can you expect others not to do the same?

Bottom line
BBC an others are calling it the "Russian invasion of the Ukraine"
and from the Huffington post " Russia Has Committed Crimes Against Humanity In Ukraine"
“Russian forces have pursued a widespread and systemic attack against a civilian population — gruesome acts of murder, torture, rape, and deportation,” Harris said. She also cited “execution-style killings, beatings, and electrocution.”
and here we are nearly 1 year on and all we hear, is talk talk talk

I wish I could figure out why people don't trust the Russians more. It's obviously just propaganda.

So 1 year and 86 pages later, isn't it time to redo a poll, see if opinions shifted in any way ?
Happy birthday, disaster !

Someone else can do it, but the results would be very much skewed by Russian shills. I deliberately set the poll to end before they could gather.

Let's do it non-anonymously then, to spot the fakies.
Technically doable ?
