Also, I'd like to point out the fella didn't appear in court and then magically gets the case thrown out immediately after he appears in the next court hearing. Kingdom of wonder

A powerful argument from the defense here.
My client says he's not guilty. All charges must be dropped. M'lord, I rest my case. The Phnom Penh Municipal Court decided to drop all charges against Duong Ngiep because he was not guilty.
It should be reminded that during the trial last September, Mr. Duong Ngiep strongly denied the above accusations against him, saying:
He did not know or do anything like the accusations against him.

Court hauls in tycoon for questioning
Buth Reaksmey Kongkea / Khmer Times
Tycoon Duong Ngiep, a well-known real estate businessman who was a former police lieutenant general with the Ministry of Interior, was yesterday questioned by the Phnom Penh Municipal Court for allegedly forging a public document in 2020.
Phnom Penh Municipal Police Officer Major Nuon Bunna said Ngiep was summoned by deputy prosecutor Chhay Hong of the Phnom Penh Municipal Court.
Maj Bunna said Ngiep is being sued by four Chinese businessmen who were his former business partners and real estate investors in Cambodia.
He said that according to the suit filed by the four businessmen, they had paid Ngiep $200,000 to secure Cambodian citizenships for them.
Ngiep however failed to secure the Cambodian citizenships or Khmer ID cards for the businessmen as promised, Maj Bunna said.
He added Ngiep later allegedly forged public documents in issuing fake Cambodian citizenships and fake ID Cards to the victims.
Maj Bunna said the victims later lodged lawsuits against Ngiep after discovering the fraud in 2021.
Phnom Penh Municipal Court deputy prosecutor Chhay Hong and neither Ngiep nor his lawyers could be reached for comment.
Ngiep was reportedly [also] arrested on February 14 last year.***
At that time, two Taiwanese businessmen, ChimYu Yen and Yao Ching King sued Ngieb for allegedly defrauding them of $7,305,000 by misrepresenting the ownership of land in 2020.
