Good idea, those old scrolls don't last long in the tropical conditions.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

Some rejoice when other give liberal, generous, into worthy, others protest given to be not like one's wishing. Yet second possible just tries to deny an obligation, having taken on.mannanman wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 11:48 pmAlso vulnerable to fire, unlike paper.John Bingham wrote: ↑Sat Feb 12, 2022 10:12 pm Good idea, those old scrolls don't last long in the tropical conditions.

Would one rejoice having given freely to those who hardly feel obligated, not to speak of giving in advanced? Mag da einer stets Obacht geben, welch Qualität sein Geist gerade trägt, so dies Effekt der Handlung zeichnet, guter Haushälter.
Good to give the old, 2600 years by pure generosity prevented texts also a read, and no fear that any worldly demand would be lifted, yet they bind to liberation.
Schwer zu finden, wahr?

What does one think of how much benefit would come to copy this text traditional, in regard of good livelihood and modest life?
Being a palm leaf inscriber comes with different challenges. For one, it isn’t exactly a recipe for fame or fortune
People attached to science, materialism, algorithmics, machines, although may some times enjoy the fruits of old traditions, those also by deeds, but as not learned the basic skills, once resources have runned out, also the material will disappear.
Yet may one think on how many follow the text, leaving their living rooms.
Who would order a copy of the Khmer Tipitaka from those last 3, 4 people skilled in copy by own effort, without google and co?
110 book, about 200 pages each, 3.75 each. Worthy how much copies? The generosity of 12 physical copies, measured in manners of past generosity behind, and good livelihood for about 150-200 lifes.

To let all have a possibility to take part on the merits, if rejoucing with it. A head manager of the Buddhist Digital research institute has offered the use of their resources toward the community of monks and nuns, made a huge Sangha-Dana. Buddhist Digital Resource Center gave resources toward the Sangha. Something total not common, like people would think. Most Dhamma isn't accessible and out of reach for people observing Vinaya or stick to "only taking what is given" seriously.
