Irish PAUL DONOGHUE Arrested After Killing Woman in Drunk Driving Accident

Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On February 10, 2022, a 69-year-old Irishman (local press says Dutch), Paul Donoghue, was detained for running over two victims while allegedly driving drunk on National Road No. 3, Teuk Thla village, Sangkat Kraing Pong, Khan Dangkor. The victims were a 52-year-old woman, Su Kea, a factory worker who died on the spot, and a 50-year-old woman, Neang Sopha, a security guard who was seriously injured. They both were from Ang Samrong village, Kong Pisey district, Kampong Speu province. The detained suspect was charged with negligent driving which ended in the death of another person. Khmer Times says the the two victims were a married couple.

Paul Donoghue is reportedly the old owner of Molly Malone's Bar on Street 136 in Phnom Penh, Cambodia.

I wasn't aware that two women can be a married couple in Cambodia. Or should that read "man" instead of "woman" in case of the security guard?

Some male and female say husband and wife but they’re not married, not officially anyway. Just a local ceremony.

If this had been another drunken [xxxxx] running over some poor bastard and killing them there’d be multiple posts about how they’ve ruined the country and are killing Khmers with impunity.
But when it’s a Westerner driving drunk and doing the killing? it’s the ambiguity of two women being married? that’s the main talking point, ffs!
If this [xxxx] was drunk when he rode into those poor [xxxxxxx], then I hope they throw the book at him, [xxxxxx].

Traffic deaths and DUI reports are a dime a dozen, so that part was really what sparked my curiosity.

Personally, I couldn't care less who the perp is, DUI causing death is indefensible in any case.

I'm hoping he has some remorse. But I'm glad they caught him. Now, the sobering begins.

On a side note, post515441.html, this woman is still free and walking around singapore in a new bike. Even the SG gahmen can't do much. I'd love to see Cambodia actually peruse these people,and bring them back to face the time.
