No quarantine for fully vaccinated flying to Malaysia from Cambodia
Starting March 15, Malaysia will waive on-arrival quarantine for fully vaccinated travellers from Cambodia and Thailand.

Malaysian Minister of Transport, Datuk Seri Wee Ka Siong announced on Saturday that following fruitful discussions with Thailand and Cambodia, the new Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) will begin operations on March 15 as part of joint efforts to reopen international borders.

“Fully vaccinated travellers will be allowed to travel on the noted routes without being required to quarantine upon arrival and this will aid our mutual economic recovery from the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, particularly in reviving the ailing tourism industry,” he said in a statement released by the Malaysian Embassy in Cambodia.

“For Cambodia, the designated airlines from both countries will be allowed to operate up to two flights daily on the Kuala Lumpur- Phnom Penh route. Additional routes may be added subject to market demand,” he added.

The Prime Minister said visitors, as well as Malaysian returnees, who are fully vaccinated are not required to undergo quarantine upon arrival.

They, however, must undergo a RT-PCR test two days before departure and a rapid test (RTK) upon arrival.

As for travellers who have not been fully vaccinated, Ismail Sabri said the entry procedures will be explained by Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin on Wednesday (March 9).


For foreign travellers arriving into Malaysia, they are no longer required to apply through MyTravelPass.

Ismail Sabri said they are only required to download the MySejahtera app and must complete a pre-departure form.

AirAsia resumes flights between Kuala Lumpur and Siem Reap

AirAsia has resumed flights between Kuala Lumpur and Siem Reap, Cambodia. The airline will operate the route with two flights per week on Mondays and Fridays.

Flight AK540 is scheduled to depart from Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2) at 13:05, arriving in Siem Reap at 14.20.

The return flight, AK541, is timed to leave Siem Reap at 14:55, arriving back in Kuala Lumpur at 18:10.

KUALA LUMPUR: All travellers entering Malaysia from Monday (Aug 1) will no longer need to fill in the traveller's card in the MySejahtera mobile application.

Announcing this on Saturday, Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said the move is aimed at simplifying entry procedures.

Mr Khairy said authorities will step up the monitoring of travellers' health symptoms at all international entry points in Malaysia.

On arrival, if a traveller is detected to have a fever through the thermal scanner or found to be unwell, they will be referred for re-examination by the health department, he said.

If a traveller is suspected to have an infectious disease such as COVID-19, monkeypox or MERS-CoV, they will be taken to a nearby health facility for further examination and treatment.
