GOLF?
Re: GOLF?
Played Garden City today out by the National Stadium.
Once again, a beautiful course in superb condition.

Re: GOLF?
Awesome man! I hope your hitting them well. How much was this course? Did you get this as part of a package deal or just drive out and play?
You go to Siem Reap next?

This is the place that does the discount on 5 green fees, you don't need to buy the package at the start as they give you a loyalty card and it gets cheaper each time you go back within a month. Yesterday was US$80 plus 15 caddy, next time is 70 + 15, then 60 + 15, 40 + 15 and finally $1 + 15. You have the caddy tip on that so it's not cheap to start, but it's a top quality place.

Did you get caught out with the green that has a bunker in the middle of it?Eeyan wrote: ↑Mon Feb 21, 2022 3:02 pm Just finished a game at City Golf, the par 3 with a driving range.
Without doubt not just any old par 3, really good condition with greens that wouldn't be out of place on any championship course
All rather chaotic and unclear with the pricing, caddy fee, caddy tip, how to pay for a beer etc etc (admittedly I'm in a foreign country and can't speak their language), but overall a lovely place.
$30 for 18 holes, including caddy and 50 practice balls. I tipped her $10.

Apparently the hotel there is superb and very good value.Eeyan wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 7:18 amHi, I just took a Grab each way.AlexJonesCrab wrote: ↑Wed Feb 23, 2022 4:22 am

Re: GOLF?
A friend of mine stayed there once for a week. The room was upgraded to a suite and he said it was bigger than his house in England! The place was almost deserted and it's a bit out of the way, but I think they do a shuttle service for free or very cheap which will drop and collect you from downtown.

They've combined the golf club with the hotel which makes it completely lacking any atmosphere.
A dedicated golfers' terrace bar overlooking the course for a couple of cold ones after the game would be a massive improvement.
