2021 Kun Bokator National Championships to Take Place Next Week

Bokator Federation of Cambodia (BFC) is organising the 2021 Kun Bokator National Championships next weekend.[sic - In fact, it will be the weekend after next ].
To happen in Phnom Penh on Feb. 11-13, the competition will consist of performance and combat events for both men and women, according to H.E. Vath Chamroeun, BFC's Secretary General.
This is a new campaign aiming to select the best athletes for the SEA Games 2023 to be hosted by Cambodia and with a view to preserve and develop this Khmer traditional martial art.
Cambodia's ambition is not only to advance the sport within the ASEAN region or for the SEA Games 2023, but also in the Asian continent in the future, like Karate and Taekwondo
The Kingdom is planning to establish clubs of Kun Bokator in approximately 20,000 pagodas across the country.

7-10 Gold Medals for Bokator at SEA Games 2023 Aimed

Bokator Federation of Cambodia (BFC) aims to win 7 to 10 gold medals for Kun Bokator in the SEA Games 2023 that Cambodia will host.
The update was shared by Mr. Ou Dara, Secretary General of BFC in a closing ceremony of the 2021 National Bokator Championship recently, adding that Cambodia will include 21 subjects of the game in the SEA Games 2023.
To date, there are five Kun Bokator member countries to join the challenge: Cambodia, Indonesia, the Philippines, Malaysia and Laos.
Taking place on Feb. 26-27, the 2021 National Bokator Championship attracted the participation of some 200 athletes and coaches from 27 martial art training centres.
It was introduced to select the best athletes for the SEA Games 2023 and to further preserving and developing this Khmer traditional martial art.
