91Yo French Colonial Buildings Due for Destruction

Sure, let's demolish every foreign influence in every country.mannanman wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 9:08 pmWhatever. Those Chinese style/built/born houses have no architectural or historical significance. Rip them down.Darkcel wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 8:25 pmNot being sarcastic, read up on the French colonial powers. Protectorat français du Cambodge implemented a wide range of structural styles from African, Asian and American. Vietnam being divided up into threes and each protectorat having vastly different building styles from the French government.mannanman wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 8:20 pmSo the French actually built Chinese shop houses?Darkcel wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 8:14 pmComprehension skills aren't too good for you huh John?John Bingham wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 4:52 pm
Yes, the French should pay for the demolition of Chinese shop houses because PoL pOt.
Built under French colonial powers, doesn't matter if they're "Chinese designed" or not
Never knew that.
Waddesdon Manor will be the start in the UK since it was built by a Frenchman and styled as a Slavic Manor.

No, you're not being sarcastic, you just don't understand how things worked. These buildings were built by Chinese or Sino-Khmers long before and all the way through the French protectorate. They weren't "implemented" by the French administration - they were built by independent private individuals.Darkcel wrote: ↑Sun Jan 30, 2022 8:25 pmNot being sarcastic, read up on the French colonial powers. Please, explain to us how they were build by private individuals when the deputy governor knows from oral history the French ordered the constructionJohn Bingham wrote: ↑Mon Jan 31, 2022 12:58 amNo, you're not being sarcastic, you just don't understand how things worked. Re: 91Yo French Colonial Buildings Due for Destruction
When did the deputy governor say that? All I can see is this:
And what makes you believe that the deputy governor of Kampong Chhnang would have the first clue about architectural history? Oral history means nothing, it could be just as easily described as gossip. It should be noted that these 13 stone houses were built during the French colonial period during 1931 and are now 91 years old.
Notice the text - what language could that be?
Silence, exile, and cunning.
