“as with any country in the world – to always lease or hand over the development of islands and beaches to private companies”
Hmm.
Hmm.

Yes, such bullshit. Most beaches in any country in the world are public property.
Silence, exile, and cunning.

You had me thinking about this situation of here and that of the law of the country, or its procedures. I was firstly under the impression that from any waterfront land belongs to the Cambodian king, but we see that land being leased out to a private company, again Cambodian people who may or may not have had respect for the situation, but here once again it will be the poorest of the group that will be evicted from their sources of a home and income. It seems once again that the poorer of the group will loss out the most, and again not offered any alternatives because the law state's they really should not be there. But leasing for development money gain is accepted. It would be good to see the needy of the country get some kind of kickback in these situations.John Bingham wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 12:24 pmYes, such bullshit. Always "hope" but never "expect".

In the case of Italy it means that privately leased beaches go as far as to one meter from the shorline. Just large enough to have a walk. Fuck that.John Bingham wrote: ↑Sat Jan 29, 2022 12:24 pmYes, such bullshit. Most beaches in any country in the world are public property.

Last time I went to Koh Rong in Jan 2018, I was waiting on the pier for the ferry to arrive, to head back to SnookyYobbo wrote: ↑Fri Jan 28, 2022 9:47 pmWhatever happened to the ecotourism fad? WHY.
It would be better not to develop, because all the basic environmental principles and natural resources will just go down the toilet.
When it arrived & docked, one of the 1st tourists off the boat was a Chinese man with a bag of rubbish in his hands, kids & wife just behind. He walked straight past the rubbish bin on the pier & chucked the bag of rubbish into the water instead
One of those moments that you just can't believe happened
