If you could start any business in Cambodia..

This is where our community discusses almost anything! While we're mainly a Cambodia expat discussion forum and talk about expat life here, we debate about almost everything. Even if you're a tourist passing through Southeast Asia and want to connect with expatriates living and working in Cambodia, this is the first section of our site that you should check out. Our members start their own discussions or post links to other blogs and/or news articles they find interesting and want to chat about. So join in the fun and start new topics, or feel free to comment on anything our community members have already started! We also have some Khmer members here as well, but English is the main language used on CEO. You're welcome to have a look around, and if you decide you want to participate, you can become a part our international expat community by signing up for a free account.

I think Kampot needs a go-cart course!

But I would start a juggling cafe, just not sure how to keep people from breaking glasses...
a biiiiiiiiig shop full of cheese from everywhere in the world...and a real swiss bakery next door.
Romano’s have a small deli of Italian cheese to make one feel at home.

I like the idea of a Karting centre.
Maybe combine it with advanced driving instruction for the Chinese? Lesson 1. This is the steering wheel….
Large Dogem car course next to the License testing station for practice runs.

This gets me wondering, what kinds of shops are around that I haven't discovered here yet.

So many gems seem to be so hidden off the main road that I never notice them, and not being on facebook or anything, I never hear about any of them.

Often wondered if there is a local equivalent of Expedia/Agoda etc for guesthouses/hotels outside of PP/SR and if not, would one be worthwhile?

From what I can see, one would want to make your money quick with that new shop idea or have some sort of proprietary licence.

Watching the ever changing landscape of shop businesses in Daun Penh for the last several years and as soon as one looks reasonably successful, the idea is copied nearby to a point the market is oversupplied and they can't make money anymore.

Thinking minimarts, coffee shops (incl carts), $3 massage places et al

I like this!

Could place a couple of light poles around the track and present it as an obstacle course :D

I see. That's a great idea actually! I've seen documentaries about some quite successful ones in Thailand.

The local culture and of course the economic situation. I'd so much rather stay in a home here than in the west.
