"Bat out of Hell" singer dies aged 74

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

"Bat out of Hell" singer dies aged 74

Post by hanno »

I liked the man, both as a singer and, of course, as Eddie in the RHPS.

P.S.: Pure coincidence, but I watched the Rocky Horror Picture Show for the first time i years just 2 days ago.

He was brilliant in Fightclub.

Bought Bat Out of Hell on vinyl, then on cassette, then on CD and now it's on my iPad, music that stands the test of time

good read form the Rolling stone
https://www.rollingstone.com/music/musi ... 4-1288550/

these lyrics are great:
Stop right there
I gotta know right now
Before we go any further
Do you love me?
Will you love me forever?
Do you need me?
Will you never leave me?
Will you make me so happy
For the rest of my life?
Will you take me away
Will you make me your wife?

Do you love me?
Will you love me forever?
Do you need me?
Will you never leave me?
Will you make me so happy
For the rest of my life?
Will you take me away
And will you make me your wife?

I gotta know right now
Before we go any further
Do you love me?
Will you love me forever?

I couldn't take it any longer
Lord, I was crazed
And when the feeling came upon me
Like a tidal wave
I started swearing to my god
And on my mother's grave
That I would love you to the end of time
I swore I'd love you to the end of time

[Both:]
So now I'm praying for the end of time
To hurry up and arrive
'Cause if I gotta spend another minute with you
I don't think that I can really survive
I'll never break my promise or forget my vow
But God only knows what I can do right now
I'm praying for the end of time
It's all that I can do (ooh, ooh)
Praying for the end of time
So I can end my time with you

from the same concert it seems

Meatloaf, Bat Out of Hell, and also Jim Steinman, Bad for Good, are both in my all time top 5 songs. Like another poster said, had these on vinyl, cassette and then digital format. It’s a cliché but, they don’t make em like that anymore!
