Woman Victim of Bag Snatch Gang Dies in Hospital
RIP
Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): A woman died on 19 January 2022 at Preah Kosomak Hospital from injuries received four days ago, after a group of thieves snatched her bag while she was riding a motorbike on the way to shop at Orussey Market, causing her to fall from the motorcycle and hit the road.
The victim was Pum Ravin, a 38-year-old woman living in Trapeang Po Village, Sangkat Choam Chao III, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh. She was attacked by the gang at 9:15am on January 15, 2022, along the Boulevard of the Russian Federation in Sangkat Kakap I, Khan Por Senchey, Phnom Penh, and she died in hospital on the morning of January 19.
According to sources, before the incident, the victim was seen riding a black McWave motorcycle, with license plate Phnom Penh 1GM-1636, traveling along the Boulevard of the Russian Federation, when a group of suspects on a motorcycle chased after her and seized some bags and other belongings carried by the woman, causing her motorcycle to fall on the road.
According to the victim's family, they then received information from witnesses that the victim had been robbed and was seriously injured. They then traveled to the scene and sent the victim to Preah Kosomak Hospital for emergency treatment. At that time, the medical team scanned the woman's head and saw that the skull was broken, and the victim remained unconscious from the time of the incident until the day she died.
The source added that if the woman had been victim of a normal traffic accident, the family would have received compensation for the medical bills and funeral expenses, but since the death was caused by thieves, there will be no compensation unless they are captured, brought to justice, and made to pay.
At the same time, the media are hearing rumors and whispers that since the transfer and replacement of a senior police officer in Po Sen Chey District Inspectorate, crimes such as armed robberies are increasing. People who do not wish to be named are asking the higher authorities to inspect the crime situation in the territory of Po Sen Chey, saying that citizens are afraid and they feel unsafe because they are not protected by the police.

Little scumbags, hope they get theirs
Re: Woman Victim of Bag Snatch Gang Dies in Hospital
What a terrible thing to happen. Total scumbags. It seems that the people in charge or seem to be in charge do very little to stop this sort of stuff happening. If you go past most police stations they are generally sat around playing on their phones. Shame on these policemen and their leaders. My thoughts and condolences to the family.

Of course they get theirs in the end. But not after ruining countless lives with their actions.Jerry Atrick wrote:Little scumbags, hope they get theirs
In my opinion, it’s the criminal gangs who have paid off the new police masters to turn a blind eye.
And let’s say the family finds the responsible gang. Any chance criminals normally pay for restitution? Or even for this poor lady’s funeral?
