Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Post by CEOCambodiaNews »

Pursat: Thousand of the marijuana plants were being grown on 6000 square meter farming field located in Pursat province were all burned down yesterday by the authorities. Those marijuana plants are almost ready for harvesting.

The offenders leased the farming field from the villagers by saying that they would grow cassava, but they grew cannabis instead. When the authorities arrived the farm, all offenders fled, only the farming field owner remained at the scene.

The government should legalize smoking week as even though it is illegal, people still manage to grow and smoke it anywhere. Then we can put higher tax on weed and no doubt, it will help increase country income.

More importantly, cannabis is illegal in Cambodia due to US pressure. Meanwhile, the US is legalizing it.

That's what's crazy!

I think the U.N. should force them to lobby as much to make our legal in all counties now that they legalised it themselves back home!
