Tested Positive on Arrival?

Do you have a Cambodian trip report you want to share? Post it here, and feel free to link to your blog if it's a travel blog for Cambodia, South East Asia, or anywhere really. You can ask and answer questions about travel advice in Cambodia or just share your pictures and videos with us. Most people who live in or visit Cambodia have also checked out nearby countries like Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia and the Philippines, and you can get to most of these countries by traveling overland, so put any travel plans, reviews or questions here. Discussions about dirt bike trails in here as well.

These conditions are very bad. I think no one should visit Cambodia if this is possible

Good news...

No longer mandatory to go to a Hospital/quarantine facility if tested positive for Omicron.

Cambodian Nationals and foreigners who test positive on arrival can apply for self-quarantine...

"The prime minister highlighted that foreign arrivals who test positive for any strain of the novel coronavirus will be allowed to convalesce or receive treatment at the hotel, embassy or other practicable location of their choosing."

Official directive should be released tonight for clarification.

Thank fuck for that. Honestly those pictures earlier were making me think I should delay my move a few more months.

"All foreigners who come to the Kingdom of Cambodia are allowed to be treated at the hotel or residence or the place of their choice without having to go to the hospital or Covid-19 Medical Center."

Makes one wonder which hotels one is welcome to stay at🤔? Maybe we will know soon....

Today he got a call from the airport saying that someone on the flight had tested positive for Omicron, and that if he feels unwell he should get tested.
(He's currently feeling fine).
He said that on the Singapore to Phnom Penh leg he wore 2 masks.

He's hoping to fly out again next Wednesday.
He and his sister (my daughter) were hoping to fly out yesterday. Went to collect their test results only to find that he's covid positive.
He asked what variant of covid and was told that it is government information and that they can't tell him.
He was sent home, but is half expecting a van with guys in hazmat suits to come to take him away today.

An expensive exercise as it turns out. Two PCR tests @ $130 each, plus two flight cancellations @ $200 each.

If there is a God, I expect he looks like a vagina!

Sorry to hear about that. Did he have any symptoms? I gather from your message-- he didn't even realize he had it.. or am i mistaken?

The program director for my school in NYC asked me to get tested a few weeks back because one of my students tested positive. Turns out, i was positive. UGH.. I would of never known because had no symptoms. The whole ordeal was stressful.

So he caught it from the covid + guy on the flight or.... no symptoms, so didn't bother with tests. How many people did he come in contact with?

whats the procedure now? has to show 2 negative results before he can depart?
means u cant book a ticket till.
what a cluster fuck and what everyone thinking of travelling has to consider before they travel..

Variant doesn't matter, all COVID positive cases are permitted to self-quarantine at their Residence or hotel (if the hotel agrees that is).
