Will Djokovic play or not?

Post by Clutch Cargo »

You've heard all the arguments on this topic: post528195.html#p528195
Immigration Minister Alex Hawke was to make his decision on whether to use his personal power to deport the Serbian star on public health grounds as early as Wednesday, but Djokovic’s lawyers submitted additional information, which will draw out the process longer than expected.
So what do you reckon the decision will be?

I've voted NO, I think the fascists in charge there cannot have that. But who knows!

No.
We have an election looming so ScoMo will want to prove that he is the man.

I voted yes. There is more than enough to sling his lying ass out of the country already.

The longer this goes on the more likely the truth will really start coming out about his application. Todays revelations are moving in that direction.

TA might find their showpiece money spinner must be the subject of large angry crowds protesting at his presence there (assuming public protests are still legal in Australia :D )

Hmm, mods are a privileged lot.

Us mere mortals have to suffer the slings and arrows of members pointing out our shortcomings when we cock-up a poll...

If they produce examples of people who were denied a visa or entry under the same conditions as him then NO.

If he produces an example of somebody was let it under the same conditions as him then YES

I find it strange that none of them have done this ?

If they produce examples of people whose visa was cancelled under similar circumstances, then first they’ll have to investigate and fully vet each application, associated interview, debrief and interview each officer, etc to avoid getting picked apart by various legal bodies.
The inadequacies of the system would be open season.
The financial and legal ramifications might be highly unpalatable.

If they can get away with it, then letting this one die a media death, and quietly sort out the interagency errors might be the less painful way to o.

The Sun has some serious knives out on Djokovic with their headlines the past days

Slow news week I guess

Who's gonna be favorite for the tournament if they reincarerate Djokovic - Andy Federer or Roger Murray?
