Convert visa

Post by mekongme »

I have just received news that you can transfer E visa(tourist) to eb visa (business) without leaving the country.
I understand that the rules change every week, does anyone have confirmation of this, or is it a scam from unscrupulous agents.

Some agents are now saying they can, whereas many of the more reputable agents are saying cannot if entered Cambodia after 15th Nov 2021.

Proof will be in the pudding.

You have been able to do that for like, forever. Its just lately that many visa services have gone out publicly offering this service.

The difference would be if they now allow this conversion to be done in a legal way or not. Previous is was not but still doable.

Scam? No, i know several people who done it. But there are scammers out there, including visa agents, so make they have a good reputation. Wasnt it like 2 years ago a visa agent took the passports and money of 20 people but never extended their visas? Just threw away their passports and did a runner?

Was legit for those who were "stuck" here (anyone who entered on or after Jan 1st 2020 on a Tourist Visa).

They then extended that to anyone who entered after Tourist Visas were reintroduced in Oct last year...then the DoI done a backflip and said only for those who entered up until Nov 15th 2021.

Now it appears the DoI have changed their tune again and are going to allow anyone who has entered since the reintroduction of Tourist Visas in Oct last year to convert to an EB or ER EOS.

@Albror , yes, but prior to COVID-19 restrictions the passports were sent to a land border, stamped out and got an E-type Visa on Arrival. Since COVID restrictions that hasn't been possible due to land borders been closed and no VOA's, and so the only way was via an agent and the DoI Visa office. The DoI keep chopping n changing their minds (see above).

Call Kim, ( pretty respected agent)

Notice: If you hold a 2021 Tourist Visa, please wait to convert to another type of visa. New information should come soon. I will post information when available.

Kim is reliable and efficient, and she is the actual agent.

I know a couple barang chancers in town that claim to be able to do it and will then farm it out to an agent you'll never get to meet. If they take your money and passport and do a disappearing act, you are screwed. At best it will add $100/200 to the true cost.

There are a lot of new people in town on fresh tourist visas looking for EB extensions so there is a growing market for them to operate in.

If anyone says they know a man that knows a bloke who can get it done... nudge nudge, wink wink... then walk away.

Interesting. I wonder if this is another temporary measure.

Now, what about the recent rumour of reopening VOAs, namely the Ordinary visa? Any progress?
