Underage Girls Rescued in Village Brothel Raid

Cambodia News(Kampong Thom): On 27 December 2021, at 7:20 pm, a male suspect was arrested by joint police forces at Soyong village, Kampong Thom Province in connection with illegally sex trafficking women and underage girls. Police said that the 41-year-old suspect, Ou Sok Heang, alias Pak, lived at the scene of the arrest, which was being used as a brothel.

The police raid rescued 10 female victims of sex-trafficking, including 7 minors, and the authorities sent them to the Provincial Anti-Human Trafficking and Juvenile Protection Office for further procedures.

Why are they mostly underage? Do they get sent to the barangbars when they come of age of do village People simply prefer them that way?
