His motive for doing so was because he was tired of show-offs and hates those who brag about their wealth on social media, especially those like Ms. An Sieu Mey who "Sell lotion… and like to brag about gold, diamonds, dollars… like (a madwoman)…."

UPDATE
Another suspect nabbed in high-profile jewellery heist
Post Staff | Publication date 24 December 2021 | 14:49 ICT
Another man has been arrested in connection with a December 19 armed robbery at the home of online lotion celebrity An Sieu Mey in western Phnom Penh, the National Police reported.
The arrest was made on December 23 at 1pm at a bus station in southeastern Battambang province, in Moung village of western Moung Russey district’s Moung commune. Police named the suspect as Net Phaimony, 42, a resident of southern Phnom Penh’s Dangkor district.
According to a video clip of the incident released by the Military Police, which is also assisting in the investigation, a band of robbers posing as officials used a fake court order to convince Sieu Mey into opening the door to her home.
The National Police identified Phaimony as the man in police uniform who showed Sieu Mey the forged document.
The robbery was allegedly orchestrated by Khmer Rise Party president Sok Sovann Vathana Sabung, better known as William Guang who was arrested on December 20.

Re: Confusion Over Armed Robbery at Oknha's Villa
It's an Oknha's wife and daughters thing. Every second one i know is into it.
- it adds real meaning into their otherwise empty and vacuous lives.
I once spent a day on boat in Koh Kong with 8 Toul Kouk "ladies who lunch", (the rich end of the family) trying to get them interested in my dolphins.
Hard work.
Facebook influencers and their spiels about "wonder" sun lotions were getting all of the attention.

UPDATE
Cambodia News, (Phnom Penh): On the afternoon of December 24, 2021, the Phnom Penh Armed Forces sent a group of robbers to the Phnom Penh Municipal Court in order for the Court Prosecutor to open a procedural investigation.
Under the guidance of General Sao Sokha, Deputy Commander of the Royal Cambodian Armed Forces, officers had visited the home of Mr. Sok Sovann Vathana Sabung, alias William Guang, in Borey Peng Huoth, as part of the investigation into a robbery at the home of the wellknown online lotion seller, An Sieu Mey .
At the house belonging to William Guang, the armed forces arrested 2 people for interrogation as they were leaving the premises, and then continued into the house where the thieves were staying, where they arrested 10 more people, a total of 12 people in all, (9 males, 3 females), including Mr. Sok Sovann Vathana Sabung called William Guang, President of the Khmer Rouge Party.
Under professional interrogation, Mr. Sok Sovann Vathana Sabung alias William Guang, admitted that the robbery of An Sieu Mey was directly led by him, along with his four assistants, wearing uniforms and armed with five weapons (1 AK rifle and 4 pistols). They showed the woman a fake police warrant in order to enter the house and rob the owner.
William Guang added that when he entered the house, he was carrying a pistol, a mobile phone and a backpack, but because he was blind without his glasses, he returned to sit in the car. His partners in crime made An Sieu Mey open the safe and they took a lot of diamonds and then got into the car to escape. However, the police were alerted and eventually the gang were tracked down by law enforcement officers to the home of William Guang where the arrests took place.

Re: Confusion Over Armed Robbery at Oknha's Villa (UPDATED: Arrest!)
Is it just me who notes a correlation between being arrested for violent crimes in Cambodia and the adolescent-esque testosterone deficient ragged attempt of a tashe worn upon the perps upper lip?
