Cambodian-American Dies During Wedding
RIP
Cambodia News (Phnom Penh): On 15 December 2021, a Cambodian-American man passed away after vomiting blood, while attending the wedding of his nephew at Tonle Bassac 2 Restaurant, Monivong Blvd. 69 Village 11, Sangkat Tonle Bassac, Khan Chamkar Morn at 6:50am.
According to the police, the victim was Kong Chai Heang, male, 73 years old, a Cambodian-American, living at Street 196, Borey Lim Chheang Hak, Khan Chbar Ampov, Phnom Penh.
Police said that Kong Chai Heang left his residence with his family that morning to visit relatives celebrating a wedding at Tonle Bassac 2 Restaurant. When they arrived and got out of the car, the victim's daughter saw that the victim was not feeling well and was vomiting blood. She told her mother and they immediately took him in her car to Bayon Hospital.
Authorities said that when they arrived at Bayon Hospital, doctors came out to examine the victim and told the family to send him to the Khmer-Soviet Friendship Hospital, but unfortunately, the doctors there said that it was too late as the man had already passed on.
Upon examination by police and forensics, the police confirmed that the victim died of severe gastritis. Currently, the body of the deceased is kept at Wat Teuk Thla.
