Cambodia news in English! Here you'll find all the breaking news from Cambodia translated into English for our international readership and expat community to read and comment on. The majority of our news stories are gathered from the local Khmer newspapers, but we also bring you newsworthy media from Cambodia before you read them anywhere else. Because of the huge population of the capital city, most articles are from Phnom Penh, but Siem Reap, Sihanoukville, and Kampot often make the headlines as well. We report on all arrests and deaths of foreigners in Cambodia, and the details often come from the Cambodian police or local Khmer journalists. As an ASEAN news outlet, we also publish regional news and events from our neighboring countries. We also share local Khmer news stories that you won't find in English anywhere else. If you're looking for a certain article, you may use our site's search feature to find it quickly.

Cambodia News(Phnom Penh) On 13 Decmeber 2021 the Telecommunications Regulator of Cambodia, in collaboration with the Cambodian National Council for Children, announced that it has taken action to block nine websites and URLs after discovering that these websites and URLs in Cambodia were found to have posted photos and videos in connection with child pornography online.

Telecoms Regulator of Cambodia will continue to work with the National Council of Cambodia for Children, and all relevant telecommunications authorities and operators to eliminate all websites and URLs posting pornographic images and videos of children online. The Regulator emphasised again that pornographic online images fuel prostitution and human trafficking, resulting in physical and psychological harm to the victims.

The nine websites and URLs are as follows:

Oh wow what an effort. The fact that someone was paid to create this very relevant list of 9 urls is comforting, the internets shall be a safe place from here on!

now that they have posited the list, how many will go to the sites and see if they really blocked them and than find out that their IP address is now tracked?

Xnxx and xvideos being some of the more visited porn sites online there probably is enough tracked IPS for yours to disappear in the crowd 😅

Unlikely any child porn involved either. Underage maybe but doubt that Cambodian authorities would be able to verify. That list has different roots. Maybe some high ranking persons daughter got posted on xvideos or better yet posted herself 😎

Note how they mention the dignity of the nation, I think that is more relevant here than any supposed child exploitation.

Hm. I've been on xvideos and xnxx many times. Never saw anything with children. Image

Previously, some countries blocked domains of pirated movie streaming sites, only to be bypassed by using a VPN or a proxy server. I can't see how Cambodia blocking those sites will have much of an effect either. Notably, I see that pornhub is not among the blocked sites. Pornhub is currently facing legal action for publishing child porn. - https://www.law.com/therecorder/2021/06 ... 1113192005

I dont really believe that those sites with their sizes would allow and protect such content.

However for example xnxx had allot of videos with khmer ktv girls/prostitutes/revenge porn so i would see that as a more reasonable explanation if for example they did not follow the governments request to remove the content so that they instead choose to block the site.

Was thinking the same but, theporndude.com for instance does not have any content, it's just a list of links.
It does link to xvideos.com but so does a million other sites.

And Quip.com says they are "the easiest way for Salesforce customers to transform processes like Account Planning, Mutual Close Plans, and Qualification Notes. Standardize, automate, and embed real-time, collaborative documents inside Salesforce records." -- does not seem very relevant here.

dood.ws and 8kun.top could very well have some illegal content on their platforms but considering the rest of the list it all seems a bit random :dm:
