Battambang Drunk Fires Off 21 Shots in Family Quarrel

Cambodia News, (Battambang): At around 8:00 pm on the evening of December 6, 2021 at the house of the perpetrator in O Snguot village, Ta Sanh commune, Samlot district, Battambang province, a man got very drunk and had a verbal altercation with his son-in-law, which turned into a shooting session.

The drunk got angry and pulled out his gun, firing off 21 random shots, which fortunately did not hit anyone. The shooter then ran off into the dense forest and is being sought by the authorities.

Police arrived at the scene and found an illegal AK-47 assault rifle and up to 21 spent bullets.

Cambodia News, Battambang: A drunk man, 54-year-old Sok Kong, who fired more than 20 shots at a drinking party, causing a surprise in Samlot district in Battambang, has surrendered to police and confessed his guilt for the shooting episode on December 6.

Local police in Samlot district revealed that the man had hidden the weapon in the house for a long time, but when he was drunk, he took out his gun and fired 21 shots in front of his house while drinking, then escaped into the forest.
However, he now decided to come out and confess to the authorities, and the surrender took place at the Samlot District Police Inspectorate at 10:00am on December 10, 2021.
