The Ashes Wednesday 8th December
The Ashes Wednesday 8th December
Has anyone got any recommendations of where to go?
I'm thinking AussieXL or Score bar but would appreciate any other ideas.

GO England!!
beat the bastards again
The 2005 Ashes in England was the best cricket series i have watched in my life.
2 - 1 Eng (5 matches)
As a good Kiwi but also a good Anzac, I am always ready, willing and able to fight Australians (at the drop of a hat) at home within the borders of Au and NZ - but stand up for them fiercely to all outsiders.
Except of course for the deplorable (for a hundred years) Australian Mens Cricket Team.
Anybody who plays against those bastards get my vote every ball.
Kohli is one of my few great heroes. He should be made Prime Minister of Australia for his great victories against them.

Re: The Ashes Wednesday 8th December
You should be right to just stay home.
It's at the Gabba, but there's rain forecast for the duration, so could be a non-event.
The Poms will be out there in the rain saying "Ooh, it's just like being home in Blighty".

Here is your rain radar courtesy of BOM
Note Brisbane just NW of radar centre.
You can click 64/128/256 etc km sweeps too, (plus the weather details and forecasts for every part of Oz)
http://www.bom.gov.au/products/IDR662.loop.shtml#skip
El Nino will probably be the most crucial player on the field throughout the whole series.
Up until last night most commentators seemed 'reasonably' optimistic about getting a result in the first test. There will almost certainly be broken play - maybe for all 5 tests.
It may even get dramatic. The whole of SE Queensland has been continually lashed by storms for the last ?? maybe couple of months.
lol. Keep an eye out for purple patches on the move popping up on your radar, mostly in the afternoons.

Stern , your big concern seems to be about beating your big brother at cricket , maybe you should stick to Rugby stats.
although , I understand the underarm episode tarnished any respect you may of had, for so called bastards.
60 cricket test matches played , Australia 34 wins , New Zealand 8 wins .
i remember the glory years thou when almost single handed Richard Hadlee ripped thru the Aussies in Australia, mid 80's
Also Kholi returned home after the first test defeat in Adelaide last summer, for the birth of his child, when Australia won after
bowling the Indians out for 36 in first dig.
Virtually a second Indian 11, captured 2 of the remaining test matches to retain the Border/Gavasker Shield.
Australians supporters seemed most motivated by beating their mother, England. I agree the 2005 series was a cracker.
Apparently 15000 expat Englishman have formed this years Barmy Army, which will add life to any dull patches of play during this current series.
Cricket is boring when it is one sided, so hopefully there will be fluctuating fortune during this Ashes.
The Nepalese also dream , of one day flogging their big brother, India.

Thanks lads, you've been an enormous help...

Hmmm, rain. That suits England very well. If England can leave The Gabba 0-0 that is a great start.Username Taken wrote: ↑Tue Dec 07, 2021 5:16 amYou should be right to just stay home.

SCG are dreaming if they think England will sign up for this nonsense. The 5th test could be a decider. Hobart or MCG suits England.

Re: The Ashes Wednesday 8th December
Doc , Apologies for bowling a wide one,
I haven't been in the Penh , for quite some time,
Is All Sports Bar , on 172 , still open, that's all I've got.
Good luck for your team. If Root digs in, and the wild red nut Stokes delivers, should be a great battle.
