Kyle Rittenhouse Acquitted of All Charges

Yeah, that place out 'there'. Anything not really Cambodia related should go here.

Good point. Gun ownership and abortion are powerful symbols of personal freedom for the Right and Left, respectively. (Libertarians accept both, btw.) In the context of American culture and identity, neither side will give up their freedoms without a political fight.

1. The anarchic mob should not have been rioting and starting fires for 3 nights.
2. Law enforcement should have done their job in response to $#1.
Won't argue that, but two wrongs does not make a right.

According to the law no. But it was a poor decision for him at his age to get involved like that. He might have a rifle but a kid will never have authority, he put on his big boy pants with that rifle and it got him in trouble IMHO.

And we disagree. The US is clearly in a state of conflict, both ideologically and literally.

Haidt (2012) covered the topic very well.

Yes! Putin was clowning that reporter awhile back and calling the US a hypocrite. The US is losing legitimacy in the eyes of much of the world.

Mixed feelings myself.

They used to say love it or leave it.
I left in 1972.
I can't see why anyone on here would want to stay.
The culture wars spilling over onto this board are surely a pain in the ass and have little relevance to Cambodia.
Now this crap is like the main event here.

I left the US in 2003 for purely personal/apolitical reasons. Glad I did. Still hurts to watch the US go batshit live on Twitter.
