3 Traveling Quacks Arrested in Pursat
Cambodia News (Pursat Province): On November 15, 2021, at 11:00 am the Pursat police arrested three suspects for selling illegal and unlicensed traditional medicine in Chey Chumneas village, Anlong Vil commune, Kandieng district, Pursat province.
According to the police, two men and one woman traveling on 2 motorcycles came to offer unlicensed consultations about health to the villagers in Chey Chumneas village, Anlong Vil commune, Kandieng district. Four people came for health consultations and were asked to pay a total service fee of 860,000 riels, (over US$200), including the price of some herbal medicines. After this was reported to police, the suspects were immediately brought in for questioning.
The suspects have been identified as Resna, female, 41 years old, Tin Veasna, male, 42 years old, and Res Slaiman, male, 23 years old. They are a gang of Khmer Muslims living in Ngok village, Kampong Luong commune, Ponhea Leu district, Kandal province.
The suspects are currently being held at the Kandeang District Police station for 48 hours for further proceeding.
