Three Baby Alligators Found in River; Locals Express Concern
Cambodia News, (Kompong Chhnang Province): At 7:30 pm of October 27, 2021, one of the fishermen of Koh Thkov village in Kampong Chhnang province, captured three baby alligators in the river near the Toul Vihear Knong pagoda in Koh Lot village, sparking fear among the villagers.
The captured alligators weighed from 2kg to 4kg and measured from 1m to 1.3m. The villagers expressed their concern, and requested that the authorities resolve this alligator problem, as they rely on fishing for their livelihood.

"Where's Jac?"
"He went down to the river to get Pat, who went down to get Mick, who went down to get Craig, who went down to get Sam who went down to see the baby crocs"
"Are you schkut?! Cant you see what's going on? The mother has come along and taken the babies away. The boys are obviously looking for them. I'll go get them"
"That's what Mick's dad said 2 days ago"

A couple of months back a pet shop in Sihanoukville was selling baby crocs for $20 each (they had a dozen or more in a large plastic washing bowl)

I would not be too worried about the crocs for sale in the market
nor those other small crocs in the creek, (and their Mum and Dad)
nor swimming with Ute's monsterous Siamese ^^ up in the Cardamom streams.
The first two examples are almost certainly bred or escaped hybrids from croc farming. No conservation value, little risk.
None of them, including the terror inducing Siamese, eat people. (nb, usually)
The last man eating Saltie (or 'Estuarine crocodile') was shot in Koh Kong in 1971.
Dammit. I'd love to have Salties still in my mix.
Our top predators these days are roaming gangs of cute looking otters and a bunch of - sometimes pink, dolphins.
FFS!!

There are always many alligators for sale in Sihanoukvil. $20 is too much maybe $10 or 15.
